and I am getting SO sick and tired of it. What should i do to make her learn her lesson? She's 11, so she can reach the light switch, but she just doesn't care. I always yell at her for it and tell her to turn them off, but she just says "if you're so worried about it, then YOU do it" so I always have to turn off everything for her. Please give me advice. It's driving me insane. Well, more insane than before, anywyay...

unscrew the light bulb, and only screw it back in when you're in the room. when you leave, unscrew it and take it with you. tell her YOU are saving electricity.

Maybe she does care but is really afraid. You can change the whole situation. Do you have a flashlight? (Try to remember a time when you were scared and how horrible that feeling is.) If your kind to her and try to understand you may be surprised at her reaction. No one wants to admit they are afraid but when someone tries to help someone solve a problem both people win. One feels better for finding a solution and the other feels better because someone cared enough to help.

She may be doing it just to bug you. Turn it around on her by saying "leaving the light on so your boyfriend (insert name of boy she hates) can find you?" before you turn off the light

it seems as if you guys share a room. well next tiem before bed, turn on the radio or whatever and leave on music (especially music SHE hates) loud enough just for her to hear. if she gets irritated and tries making you turn it off, you can do the same thign TO HER! hope that helps!

She might be scared, why don't you just get up and turn off the light instead of getting angry and yelling. If you keep doing it then one day she might get the message.

Get your parents to tell her she'll to pay part of the electric billed, based on her huge consumption.... she's 11 and once seeing a real bill, will probably change her attitude.

Let her parents handle it. If they have told you to handle it, ask their advice on what to do next.
