it's common in growing young adults.

some people get hiccups if they eat too fast (or if the food they eat is too dry). It's an involuntary muscle contraction of smooth muscle of the diaphragm - it creates a vacuum to help along boluses.

Hi,
Hiccups are usually a reaction to your stomach and digestive system getting crazy. This happens when you eat too much, drink bubbly drinks like soda, or swallow too much air.
Some people get the hiccups for no reason at all. Other things that cause hiccups include skull fracture, epilepsy, tuberculosis and believe it or not, constipation , I know sounds crazy but is true sometimes.

These are some cures for the hiccups:
Remedies include holding your breath, breathing into a bag, sudden fright, or - get this - eating sugar, The sugar does work good if you dont mind some sweetness in your mouth for a little while.. Just drinking water, if done soon enough, might wash down a chunk of food in the throat that's pressing against a nerve.

Hope this information helps.

I think is because u drink hot tea and some time it will make u hiccup. Or if u have big bit of food like bread or chicken it might bring u hiccup. I believe that some food stock inside the chest and it is hard to swallow and it will start to hiccup as well. I think is better if u see the doctor.

Hiccup is an involuntary inspiratory spasm of the diaphragm and certain respiratory organs ending in a sudden closure of the glottis with the production of the characteristic sound. It may be due to abdominal, Thoracic, cerebral , toxic or functional causes or there may not be any demonstrable cause.

air spasms....rub the hole in throat in circles (heavens rushing point) the hiccups should go away quick.
U can also do this to a pet if your pet gets the hiccups.

your diaphram expands as your chest expands, when those teo get out of synch, then this thing in your throat (way to make me seem like I have no clue what i'm talking about) snaps shut making the hiccup sound. Just sit and relax and try and get them working together again.

Or shout out "someone ask me where fish live!!!"
and when they do, respond "deep in the sea!!!"

I've heard that it works 100% of the time, i've even seen it work, although I dunno if thats 100% what the phrases are.
