An overbite is when your top teeth stick out more than your bottom teeth. An underbite is the other way around.

Not necessarily. I had braces when I was a teen. Straightened my top teeth but did nothing for the bottom. The front bottom teeth were and still are behind the upper front teeth. I wish that I could afford now to have bottom braces put back on.
