I've been goin out with my bf for almost a year now. About two months after we started dating, he started complaining constantly about things that i don't consider a big deal. Some examples are, he'll wake me up in the middle of the night and yell at me if I'm not holding him, he yells at me if i don't ask him to take a shower with me everytime i take one, and he complains if i want to take a bath. When i say that i can't stand it anymore, he says he will change. Sometimes he will start complaining more about something else, and other times he will stop complaining about it for a couple weeks and then be just as bad as before. Also he talks to people behind my back and tells them he is single, when i confront him about it he says that nobody will talk to him when they find out he is dating someone, and i know he's cheated on his ex several times. I told him i want to break up, but he wants me to give him one more chance, and swears he will completely change. What should i do????

Leave. If he changes, he will no longer be the same person you fell on love with in the beginning, and he will come to resent being required to lose his personal sense of identity. If you're not happy with the way he is, and he's not happy with the way you are - call it quits. There is an ideal person out there, looking for someone exactly like you. Be true to yourself.

PS: Remember that if he's cheated in the past, he'll probably cheat again. It's actually easier for a guy to get someone to talk to him if he's married, since women don't feel that he's after just one thing. If he's claiming the opposite, then he's looking for some action on the side. Dump the bum.

you have one word to tell this guy GOODBYE! It will definetly hurt you and it will be hard. From personal experience with this type of boy, yes i said boy, they will not change. The sad reality is no one really ever changes. People are who they are and that's pretty much it. If he hasn't changed in this long then what would lead me to believe he will NOW?? sometimes the best thing to do is just move on. You don't seem to be too happy right now which I could be wrong about. However, maybe the preverbial "break" may be a compromise here. Tell him you need to take your space for a bit. See how life is without him around and that will be your answer. I find "breaks" to be wierd...because the significant other thinks you're looking for new love, but this is not the case. Explain to him exactly what you need....that being space...just to see what it is like without him all over you constantly.....

just a suggestion anyways

Well you have been with him almost a year, I would give him another chance if I were you. I'd give him one month & if you aren't completly satisfied with the way he is treating you then you should dump him. It does however sound like he is very insecure & controlling so I am not sure he could change just like that but its worth a try.

Leave him, but you already knew that it's why you tried to leave before. he's controlling and he has the tendency to cheat, your best bet, take it for what it is, failing, and cut your losses. best of luck don't give that a second chance

I think you should break up with him.You should not have to put up with that or deal with it.You should find some one else.Or just be single.Being single you will have less drama.

Dump the insecure, lying, controlling loser. He's gotten plenty of chances.
