This doesn't always happen but, when it does boy oh boy does it hurt. A little background: Early thirties, Male, good shape, but, taking a "boot camp" class to get in better shape. If we finish class and I jump right in the car I get the headache. If I take some time to cool down things are fine. I'm really concerned because everywhere on the net "sudden headaches" seem to point to an impending brain hemmorage. I've never worked out this hard before so I'm curious. Could the lack of fresh air in the car cause this?

Always take the time to "cool down" after any workout. This keeps the blood flowing and helps the cardiovascular system after workouts. You should go to your doctor for a good physical too and mention these headaches after your workouts; it could be just that you are not "cooling down', but it is always good to make sure nothing else is going on with your blood pressure, cardivascular or cerbral-vascular systems.

well, just remember to breathe when u exercise, and to talk breaks and drinks periodically (water, or a sports drink if exercising long term. or at least something with sodium in it. water alone isn't good enough for long term workouts)

Also, you probably get the headaches from exercising hard, then just suddenly stopping. you can't go from 70 miles per hour and just stop. take the time to cool down, and hte headaches should stop. you should never sit down right after working out

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

First you must warm up with light exercise before the heavy stuff, then cool down the same way with a few minutes of walking it off before getting in your car. SLOW DOWN!
