I have recently asked a question but I just decided to ask a new one. About 5 or six weeks ago i dyed my hair brown, but it turned out a tint of red and I followed the direction perfectly fine. I used nice and easy Clairol. My hair is still dark but a little lighter. i like how it stays the same for a very long time but it looks so fake, I want to get my hair a light brown with blonde highlights. what is a good kit that does both in one and looks natural and not soo ugly? lol. I really want it to turn out good but I want it to look natural and last. how much does it cost at the salon? but if there is a kit that works good please tell me. thanx

ok so here is the deal, If you have already put a dark hair color on your hair there is no light brown color that you can put on to make it any lighter. Think of it like this if you are coloring with markers and you make a brown line can you take a yellow marker over that same line and make it any lighter? Hair color is like that. The only way to go lighter is with bleach and I would leave that to the professionals. Good luck

At our beauty school it costs 30 dollars!! And believe me I have fixed so many people that do there hair at home it's not funny. If you want your hair to look good go to a proffesional salon like a beauty school and ask for an advanced student. They know what they are doing and the instructors are always there to help them out. So you know exactly what your are getting and it's for about as cheap as you would get at home! And Clairol or any at home color is bad because it has metallic salts that lock onto your hair and damage it . You might need a deep conditioner to restore your hair. I wouldn't ever do my own hair by myself. I used to do my friends all the time and now I'm learning why things didn't work out and why they did sometime!! And if you don't like the results at the beauty school don't hesitate to complain to an instructor they are there for a reason or if the student did good but it's not what you wanted they should give you a discount on the next thing you choose to do. Just look in your phone book!

EVERY brown hair color has a red base. The thing with box kits from the store is they have mixed bases. Ur already dark, it has more red in it from the tones u already had in ur own hair. If u wanna go lighter, its gunna be rough.

I went from black to a light medium golden brown, 2 bleach washes and 2 colors later,. its looks beautiful, but Im a stylist, I know what Im doing. Id go see a professional. All salons have different prices. Call around for prices lists.

DON'T do it on your own I had blond in my hair we tried to dye it red and it turned pink. Which means is your hair has red in it it will turn pink if you put blond in it. The only way to do it on your own would be to strip all the color our of your hair (which kills it) and then re dye it (your hair would be so fried so go to a professional it may be exspensive but it will pay out in the end I promise)

Since you already have home color in it, you'd be better off going to a salon and getting it done. You could get strange looking results if you home color again.
