The insurance will pay for reasonable fees. For example, if the car is recovered on Friday night, on Monday morning you would need to have your vehicle already released to your insurance company so they can pick it up....you can't just let it sit there and do nothing for days/weeks on end. If you have already released your vehicle to the insurance and if they are unable to move it for a few days that's okay.

Your insurance company will pay reasonable impound and towing fees. If you take a week or 2 to notify them of the recovery and the vehicle is sitting in a tow yard accruing storage fees then that is different. You will be expected to pay those unnecessary costs first, then the insurance company will step in.
Finally, if your car was really impounded for something you did and you think reporting it stolen is going to buy you a ticket out of the costs then think again. You will be on your own high and dry for everything including the repairs to your vehicle.

Contact the impound lot for this information, it will vary by city.
When I had one recovered in the KC MO area, they gave me a certain amount of time to get it out without charging for storage, I think it was 2 days ofter being notified. I did have to pay a small amount for paperwork and such.

Ask the police branch about that yet, generally, the fee of towing ans storage is yours. they could be keen to barter it if that's kept in a city owned impound lot as adverse to a tow backyard. in spite of the undeniable fact that, assuming you carry finished coverage on your automobile, which covers robbery, those expenditures may be coated below your coverage. examine including your coverage corporation. Oh, and plan on having your automobile washed in the journey that they are fingerprinting it because it will be coated with black dusting powder.

If you have insurance, I believe it will cover it, otherwise, I think you are responsible, doesn't seem right at all, call an impound yard and ask.
