My roommate has a boyfriend, but one night while I was out on dinner with her, she said that she was dating me. I mentioned to her that I was looking for a date. She kind of got upset and said "you're on a date with me" Gee, thanks Vin". What does this mean?

She is flirting and playing games with you to see if you like her. My opinion, not very nice!

Well... if I was out having dinner with a friend and she started hitting on people around, I'd find it quite rude and disrespectful. I don't know if that was what was going on in your story.

Or maybe she did view the going out as something more than just dinner... it's really hard to tell without knowing details and even then...

EDIT: You got some great answers, but I liked KK's best.

Well what kinda tone did she say it in ? like an angry tone or was it kinda scarstic ??. Well either she likes you for more then a friend. (which maybe the case) ...Or shes joking with you. I mean you could always ask her. Maybe you were looking at other chicks when you were out to dinner with her...and she felt you needed to pay more attenion to her.

All you can do is ask her what she meant by that. Made she wants you and is willing to break up with her bf for you. Then again if you don't like her like that drop it and just play it off aas a joke until she tells you she wants you.

She could be just mind fu*king you tho dude.

She may have been thinking about at that second. Cause technically you were on a date with her. Any woman would get mad if she's out woth someone of th opposite sex and he's all like "I need a date".

She was on a date with you. You're thinking you're just roommates. She's thinking your worth a test-drive.

She may like you, it may have been a joke but most people still mean what they say when they are "joking". Just don't assume she'll leave her boyfriend for you.

I think shes joking. Date doesn't have to be "OHMYGOD THIS IS GOING TO BE A STEADY RELATIONSHIP" it could also just be, lets hang out. Maybe she thought you meant "i'm bored"

or she knew what you meant, and was just being flirty/girly to feel good.

'date' ...meet someone, be somewhere at such and such a day and time =date
so you were on a date with her and wanted your attention.
your friendship for that time. if you ask her 'what do you mean at the time she said it...it might be more clear if she had 'more than friendship' intentions. peace

hummm........well you dont think your roommate is BISEXUAL do you? i mean if she said that she was dating you, and she has a boyfriend.....that can make her bisexual......just think about this......if your roommate has a boyfriend, and if she is bisexual, she could be cheating on him with you without you and him knowing about it?
