According to Bible Prophecy the only one world government that will be righteous and lawful will be the one that Christ will return to personally establish. If you look in Daniel, the dream that King Nebuchednezzar had revealed that the remnants of the Roman Empire (Europe/US/parts of Western Asia) would never be able to be united into one world wide government. Human beings cannot do this...and it is pride and fear that would cause us to try. The rest of the dream revealed that a stone would destroy the old kingdoms and dominate the earth. As long as we see the remains of Rome, Greece, Persia, and Babylon, we must understand that Christ has not returned yet. In essence, I am referring to all of Europe, Iraq, Iran, and the United States (US is part of the Roman line of kingdoms) and their respective colonies around the globe.

I believe the creation of such a government is impossible. It's never going to happen. The world is full of too many ethnic, religious, nationalistic, social, class, language, etc. differences to be united into a stable one world government. Even if such a thing were to be created, it would fall apart in no time.

Only if we're talking about World of Warcraft, baby!
Other than that, probably not. It reeks of big brother. Imagine if one authority did something stupid, like ban a new type of scientific research. Then you're pretty much screwed wherever you live, and all human society suffers from it.
Secondly, I doubt that government itself can be righteous. It seems to promote bureaucracy and "cog in the wheel" thinking. It can come close to being righteous by protecting liberties and relegating some things (religion) to the private sphere, but it's not perfect by far.

No. I do not believe that it can be righteous at all. And, there are just too many different ways of thinking to ever get to that point.

There is only one righteous government , Jesus.
All that you see and hear going on in the news, around the world is leading to a one world order. One world I don't plan to live in!

Its not about righteous, its about upholding freedom while trying to maintain a balance with justice.
Its possible, yes. But not at this moment in time. People can't even stop fighting over whether homosexuals should be given legal marriage so if they can't stop fighting about that, how will they ever come together to form a cooperative gvt?
Humanity has to stop acting like whiney children first.

Do a search on GHW Bush, while he was in office of Presidency, he introduced the New World Order. Clinton and Geo W Bush have followed suit, Geo W more so than Clinton. Our next President will follow suit as well.
The currency will be the Euro, just a matter of time before we see our dollar here in the States turn to Euro.
The religion could be Islamic .. which would fall in place with the New World Order.
It's just a matter of time before we see it in full bloom.

that type government would be convenient. But it would require one way thinking. With man ,being a thinking individual, one world government will never work.
An example: communism, in the dictionary, is perfect Humanity is not added. When put into practice, communism is destine to fail. One world government, without God, is destined to fail

Is any government righteous? Governments are a necessary evil, often more evil than they are necessary.
