My cats use Nutro because the Chicken Soup for the Soul was too rich for their tummies. NOW we are having success with the indoor Nupro and this happens. NONE of the food we have is affected but I am just freaking out... I have 7 cats ( I know crazy cat lady but it is hard for me to say NO to homeless kitties - YES they were all adopted).

Should I switch, if so what is a good brand with not to many fillers....

Thanks

The brand that I use WAS on the list but when I checked in detail it was not the exact flavor and it was CAT food, I have kittens... BUT I am going to be moving on to cat food in about 2 months and I am not feeling to confident in the same brand.

I completely understand... I freaked out last night and could not rest until I got all the info I could. Stayed up all night waiting for that list from Menufoods. Fortunately, Iams and Eukenuba (the foods I give my cats) had heir info a lot quicker and I discovered that the cans I have here are not in the affected batch... but still... I am rather upset becuase I took a long time researching what foods to give my two boys (one has to lose weight while the other had to gain). And like you, I am saying, "Now This!" I don't know if I can make myslef trust Iams and Eukenuba or any of the brands on that list again. I mean, at this stage, I am saying "Poor humble Friskies is more dependable than these high-faluting so-called top brands." I am switching to Natural Balance or Wellness. Right now, since I have a stock of Friskies cans, the cats are eating them.

ALL of the recalls lately have been freaking me out! I finally moved all of my pets to a very good food, no fillers, no corn, no wheat. The first ingredient is chicken! I'm recommending that EVERYON change to this food right now. View it here:

As far as I'm concerned, there have been FAR too many recalls lately. So - I just opted out of the mainstream and researched my own food. This is the best one I found and my pets love it!

I heard about the recall too. I found this recall number and list of cat foods affected. One of the cat foods I give my cats is one the list too. Luckily the dates didn't match, but I'm going to double check the list again. I listed the one for dogs too.

My pets have always been fed Purina products and never had problems. Purina has been around so long and has a great reputation. If you change foods, do it little at a time. Changing foods will cause problems if you are not careful. If it were my pet, I would go with the product that has the greatest reputation. Did you know that many "working dogs" that help disabled are told to use Imes only? Do you think that they will keep insisting on them using this product?

I would definitely switch....way too risky.... Then you can relax. NO, you are not a crazy cat lady, you have a big heart...

There are so many great foods out there - it's finding the right store that carries them.

My kitties get Katz-n-flocken and they love it....I mix it with Innova -

There are so many other great brands out there - but here's a couple of links for you....down side= I don't think petco or petsmart carry these brands - luckily enough, I have a holistic-care pet shop 2 miles away...

I love cats, too. If it isn't on the named list, then it probably wasn't made by the company which caused this problem. I am continuing to feed my pet his food because it is not made by the company at fault nor is it on the list of products recalled. Hope this helps.

I would change cat foods until the recall is over, just in case. If you need help, go to your local pet store and ask them, or talk to your vet.

Check with your vet, but I would definitely get away from anything on that recall list even it it were a different flavor. That stuff is prepared in the same equipment. Friskies comes to mind that isn't on the list.

I would keep the unopened cans that you have and start feeding dry food. Keep an eye on them and an ear open for any new news. I suggest Friskies.

I was one of the unfortunates that feed the recalled food to my cat. It was purchased during those dates and he did get sick from the one can that he ate. He ended up in the hospital for a week and nearly died. He is better now, but I'm waiting to see what happens. I will not purchase any of those foods now for fear of my beloved Jedi dying!
