i took Max to the vet and yes after some blood work we found out he has kidney failure, most definately from the recalled food. he was visiting with my mom a week ago and she knows that i give him 2 whiskas packs a day because its his favorite treat.in anticipation of his visit she went to lablaws and picked up some of the presidents choice packages. after she found out PC was on the recall list she checked the dates on the packages and found that what she had was recalled. tomorrow morning he will be going back to the vets for 48hrs of IV treatment. im so upset. i dont know what to do, i feel helpless and im so mad. i love him so much. i just cant believe it.

Sounds like possibly Kidney failure have. What do you feed him not one of the canned foods on the recall list. Since 5 is very early to go into Kidney failure.

Get blood work done right away. If it comes back ok then it might just be a little stomach virus but that doesn't normally cause the drinking and peeing a lot. Wow get him in for at least a blood panel.

I am really sorry that your cat is so sick. My heart goes out to you and everyone who has a pet suffering because Menu foods or whatever it is called decided to cut corners. I hope he is going to be better.

I also have a cat--Mr. Kitty--that I am keeping an eye on because he threw up last night after eating Whiskas. However, that is not on the list and tonight my husband said he thinks he may have given him too much. Being a neutered male, he will eat until he drops, if you let him! I just hope he is ok.

I am so angry that this has happened to so many cats and dogs. There is just no excuse for it. And even if they don't get sick from the food, the stress of not having the food they love is making them and their owners ill. None of us , or our pets deserve this. It is beginning to sound like a good class action litigation is in order.

Anyway. I hope you will keep us posted on how your cat is doing, because you sound like a good and loving pet parent.

I understand where you are coming from. My mom's cat had the same thing happen to her. After all the tests were run, the vet said she had a hairball blocking her intestines. She couldn't poop because her digestive tract was blocked. She lost her appetite because of this. Throwing up could mean he is trying to get rid of the hairball, if that's what it is. Bring him to the vet so they can run the necessary tests and make him better. Hope Max gets well.

It sounds like he's drinking a lot and peeing a lot because his kidneys aren't working properly and can't concentrate the urine. He should be checked by a vet, it is critical

glad to hear he's doing well! Hope he continues to improve.

I am so sorry...........There are so many animlas passing away because of this. Nothing seems to be safe in this world anymore. for Humans or Animals. Make sure they pick up your bill. I hope you caught it in time, it sounds like you might have because you are a very good parent to it and knew when something was wrong. Good Luck to you both and Prayers are w/ you

you can go to the vet. i mean he MUST go and see the vet. he is probably sick and he really needs to go to the vet IMMEDIATELY! he must have some very serious illness. to find out dont just go around asking people that doesnt work in a vet, go to the vet and asked the doctor!!!
