I believe that atheists, at least in America, endure a worse persecution than martyrs ever did, Ours is a lifetime of having to stand by, helplessly, while one, single religion dominates and controls our government. We must constantly endure passive persecution, in the form of small messages such as "In God We Trust" from the very government which supposedly grants us freedom of thought.
There is only ONE reason why people insist on "In God We Trust" being kept on money, and "Under God" being kept in the pledge. And that is to continue to force their beliefs on other people. It wouldn't affect them in the LEAST if those phrases were removed. It's not like their beliefs would change.

Of course we are -- we are the scum of the earth. We exist just to make your sorry little lives as miserable as we possibly can.
Pardon me for having the nerve to contribute to charitible organizations, volunteer with the local Red Cross, and support as many local social services as I can with my poor miserable "In God we trust" dollar bills. Next time your community is hit with a disaster, maybe I ought to keep my happy little Christian keister at home and my money in my own pocket instead of trying to help every way I can.
No, I won't do that, tempting though it might be. I love my Lord Jesus too much and want to take care of His hurting and helpless children. Even the ones who hate me and call me a fascist for the "crime" of being a Christian.

This was basically a way to attempt to distinguish our government from the " Godless Commie Oppresors" while "Tailgunner" Joe McCarthy and J. Edgar Hoover were using the constitution for toilet paper.

Excuse me:
The bible and prayer were part of schools across the USA until a certain (Atheist) O'Hare had prayer and the bible removed.
Separation of church and state is nowhere, notta, not there or anywhere in the constitution.
A ruling by the Supreme Court does not override the constitution (congress legislates not the courts).

Its just another way to push their religion on other people. Remember, they think their bible tells them to do that and call it "spreading gods word".

i dont know how old you are, but America was a much better place when GOD was in everything, schools have gone to hell since they took prayer out. our nation was founded on GODLY principles, so if your wondering why there is so much crime and violence going on it is because of people like you who want GOD out.
