Smoking is the verb used to describe someone using a cigarette, pipe, or cigar filled with tobacco. It is the action of inhaleing the smoke produced when it is burned. It is also used similarly when someong is smoking illegal drugs aside from tobacco.

Any way it is very unhealthy for you.

I believe smoking is slow death. You smoke thinking little of it but in reality you are slowing poisoning your body. When you light up the smoke you inhale from the burning tobbaco contains numerous harmful substances that end up in your lungs and your blood. Tar and nicotine are the two best know. Nicotine is the addictive chemical in cigarettes and it has been said that it is more addictive than heroin. It is terribly difficult to stop smoking once you start and when you do start its not usually becasue you want the nasty things but instead to look cool to your friends or to try and appear more mature.

Cigarettes can lead to heart disease, cancer, emphezema (sp), and many other conditions. I also beleive it causes aging of the skin and no telling what other health problems.

I know it causes halitosis ( bad breath). Smokers also expose others near them to the toxic effects of cigarette smoke.
