I don't know if a cup of hot tea with honey helps cure a cold, but it certainly helps loosen congestion and soothes a sore throat temporarily. It is also easier on the stomach than a lot of the cold medicines available over the counter.

What's that saying: "feed a cold and starve a flu" or something like that? Green tea is said to be great for a lot of things like colds and even certain cancers or the prevention of certain cancers. There are some new products on the market that are scientifically said to have benefits for getting rid of colds- like Cold FX if you take them as soon as you get the first sign of a cold. You know what really makes me angry is that the Rhino virus is responsible for something like 60% of colds that we get each year and, I even believe, that there is a vaccination for this Rhino virus! Why don't they give us this vaccination? Maybe it needs to be tested some more but, if not, then why not? Is it because certain companies could suffer from loss of profits from sale of cold medications? My argument is- would it not be better to give people this vaccination to reduce sicknesses in society so more people can go to work and generate more GDP in the economy?
