I would like to surprise my husband when he comes home on R&R from Iraq. He has always wanted me to get a tatoo but I could never decide what I wanted. (that and I was to chicken). I want something meaningful since it will be with me for the rest of my life. Any suggestions?

Oh, I almost forgot. I want it on my back, near the shoulder area. Does it hurt to get it there?

I am going to have an anklet of my children's, my husbands & my zodiac symbols done on Tuesday. I would suggest you get something personal to the two of you. whatever design you decide on print it out or have it drawn up, then put it somewhere where you have to look at it every single day. After 90 days of that if you still like it... then get it. I have done that with all of my tattoos and I don't regret one of them. P.S. I have a butterfly on my shoulder blade area and it hurt a little... but not the worst tatt spot so it will be ok.

YOU should be the one to make this decision. Think long and hard about it. It will be with you for life. You can check out tattoo ideas by looking on the web (i.e. www.ratemyink.com).
Also, avoid getting any names of Significant Others. Most tattoo artists I know say this is a huge mistake...

Yes it hurts about as much as a dentist, maybe not. What service is he in, rank, he gonna be a lifer, got a unit logo, insignia? Lots of thing to think about first.
