They still have those strips. I can't remember the name of them. That's what works best for my wife.

Cleanse and exfoliate. Blackheads and whitehead are basically the same thing. A whitehead forms in a closed pore. A blackhead forms in an open pore. In a blackhead the oils & debris oxidize. Cleaning & exfoliating are your best bet. The strips may help for the moment, but they will not solve the problem.

A daily exfoliating cleanser is a must. A weekly or bi-weekly scrub is important. Never use hot water on your face. It strips the natural oils. It is best to use the scrub while in the shower. The steam and moisture will open your pores so the scrub can do what it is supposed to.
A toner should be used after cleansing to remove anything that resettles while rinsing. And an oil control moisturizer is also important. The moisturizier helps to give our skin protection from the elements and help to keep the face hydrated. An oil control moisturizer will help to absorb excess oils so they do not sit on the surface and clog pores.

I would not use any products containing benzoil peroxide, as it is very drying.

If you start a proper regimen you may find that for a week or two you find yourself having some breakouts. This is normal, since you will be deep cleaning and removing debris that has been sitting for a while. Keep up with the regimen. You should notice a definite improvement in 2-3 weeks.

If you would like recommendation on products give me a holler.

Sadly, none of the products that say they remove blackheads do not work. The only way to remove them is to do extractions.

Getting a facial is a great way to get your pores cleared out & this will help it stay clear too. If you want to save money, go to a cosmetology school to get a facial. They usually run about $10. for one.

You can do extractions yourself, but use extreme caution. The metal blackhead removers can damage your skin a lot. What works best is to do a good exfoliation, then steam your pores open, then use q-tips to gently sqeeze the debris out.

Well, I remember steaming my face to soften the skin up and the squeezing the blackheads out. Try a metal blackhead remover, also called a comedone, from the pharmacy, these are good to use. DONT squeeze your face too hard... or you will burst a capillary and get left with a purple vein there. Wash your face regularly and consider using a facial scrub a few times a week.

I had the same problem! My blackheads didn't look pimple-like that's black, it just looked like it was stuck in my pores, and I couldn't get it out even by exfoliating everyday. I even went to get a facial to remove my blackheads, and let me tell you, it hurts A LOT. I was crying worst than a baby. I didn't take notice of the tool, but it looks like a blackhead extractor. I don't think I'll ever trust any tool to remove my blackhead. So after the pain from the facial (and the blackheads came back, now on my nose and cheeks) I relied on myself to find my own solution. It took a lot of tries, but I think I finally found my answer.

After hours of researching online, this is what I found.

The first thing to do is to REMOVE your blackheads, so that's where the Biore Pore Strips come in. They're around $6. You can buy it anywhere-wal mart, albertson, safeway, target, etc. The most important thing when removing the pore strip is to make sure you do it slowly. Yeah it hurts, but you only have to do it once. If you remove it too fast you'll end up having to use it again! (Use it only when you have to. Using it too frequently can cause skin irritation and other bad stuff that's labeled on the box).

The next thing to do is to MAKE SURE THAT THEY DON'T COME BACK. What I bought to make sure it didn't come back was Biore's Heating Anti blackhead Cleanser or warming anti blackhead cream cleanser....Something like that, I don't remember the name exactly. I think it's around $8. It feels really good when you use that cleanser because when washing your face, the cleanser "heats up" to open your pores and "fights" the blackhead. After cleansing your face, splash your face with COLD water to minimize the pores. Pat dry except the nose, or wherever you have a blackhead. What I do is I use a napkin or tissue to pat it dry, and slowly squeeze pressure to see if any blackheads left would come out. Afterwards I gently scrape it away. ( When I scraped it away, I think I saw what looked like dead skin, apparently, from my opinion, that's what causes blackheads in the beginning. That's because sometimes when I scratch at dead skin, the blackheads sometimes comes out with it.)
USE AN EXFOLIATOR! clean away dirt and dead skin. You can try using the biore heating cleanser in the morning and exfoliator cleanser by night or vice versa. It's good for you.

The next thing I did was use my Clean & Clear Pore Minimizer toner/astringent. It's pretty self explanatory, it minimizes your pores, so the next time IF your blackheads come back, the pores will be tiny so it won't be as noticeable. Hopefully. (Sometimes I skip this step... just because I'm lazy.)

And last but not least, the moisturizer. Everyone knows that Salicylic acid is good for treating acne, and blackheads, so I bought the Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer which contains 0.5 % of salicylic acid, and put it on before going to bed.

Yeah, I do this everyday for my skin. Whenever I get lazy, it sneaks up behind me and comes back. Removing blackheads is a GOOD thing, BUT PREVENTING it from coming back is the main goal.

Have Fun Killing those darn Blackheads! I hope this helped.

my mom always told me to wash with as hot a water that i could stand ,the hot water opens up your pores , wash real good with a beauty bar or cleanser and then wash your face with cool water and apply an astingent afterwards. a nice facial lotion but be careful about liquid concealer it clogs your pores and could b causing your blackheads.

You need a chemical exfoliant....Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) or Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). You don't want to use a scrub because they are too harsh and don't get into the pores. I use Paula's Choice skin care and it's the best.
