Many of them look so good with short styles but don't usually do it until they are over 40.

A lot of girls wear their hair the way they think guys want them to wear it. (Usually long.) As women get older, they are more willing to wear their hair the way they like it. I also think short hair looks good on a lot of girls, and I think it's the more confident ones who are willing to go for it.

I tried short hair and it looked so terrible I wanted to cry my eyes out! It also took me so long to grow my hair back! I will never ever cut it short again and when I am an old fartin granny I will still have long beautiful flowing gray or white hair! lol but really it is up to the person and how they would actually feel about themselves in short hair. most ladies that do wait till over 40 is because the long hair gets on their nerves and then they chop it off or they have those hot spells and shorter hair keeps them cooler!

Why don't more women wear their hair long? Or why not more ponytails? I have long hair, and I have had short hair. Short hair just didn't look good on my. It doesn't have anything to do with wanting to look younger or not having confidence (I always wear my hair back in a ponytail, which shows off my face more than short hair would). I think long hair is 1000 times easier than short hair, because if you are having a bad hair day you can throw it back in a ponytail or a bun. With short hair you have to fix it somehow. For me, short hair is high maintanence and long hair is low maintanence. Does that help?

Usually a woman cuts her hair once she is busy with a family. Before that time, she has nothing better to do, and all day to do it! Younger women think long hair is sexier. It took me a couple of hours to dry my hair when I was younger...I have thick, curly, wavy hair.
There was no way that I had time like that for myself after kids started to follow me even to the bathroom and need attention all the time.
And now that my kids are older and not needing attention, I've found that short hair gives me so much more options for styling. Besides that, I have more time to do what I like.

I think it depends on who you are, I find it easier to have long hair. With long hair I can just put it in a ponytail and I'm ready to go. It takes more time to style my short hair to make it look good

Most younger women wear their hair long because they think guys like it better. By the time you are 40, you don't give a damn what guys think so you cut your hair because it's easier to take care of - Seriously !

I started wearing my hair long again but for a good cause. My husband and a
number of our friends have had cancer. A lot lost their hair. I decided to start
growing it again for wigs for those with cancer. I talked to my hairdresser and
she knows someone to give the hair to. I am 65 and would rather keep my hair
shorter, but my heart has been broken seeing so many children going through
chemo. Other kids can be so cruel.

well me personally it is one of my greatest qualities because it is so long, when you get older, the way you see fashion is different. it's like someone put you in lame mood. plus it starts geeting really thin and short and doesn't grow back. i want my hair to grow as long as it can, while it can, if you know what i mean. but to me when i do my hair it takes ten minutes, i have to keep brushing it. i'm mixed, so my hair is really thick on top of that. i have to brush it ten times toill all the hair stays down. well either way it goes short or long hair it trakes time, there's also a lot of ways to do short hair, like curling it.

I have had my hair short for a long time, and I'm only 36. I've had it short since I can't remember when, and men look at me like I'm a truck-driving bull dike. I don't date a lot, because men think I'm gay. I work at Auto Zone, as a delivery driver, and they think I'm gay. I have long nails, wear make-up, and am girly as hell. I (along with my mom and sis) just happen to think I look YOUNGER with short hair. But I'm tired of men thinking I'm gay, so I am trying to grow it out.
