If it's a partly black or grey cat, the gum color could just be natural coloring. I had a calico (tri-colored, black/white/orange) cat & not only was her nose half black & half pink, the inside of her mouth (roof & gums) was partly black, partly pink. Also, some of the pads on her feet were pink, some black. And one time when we had neglected to keep her brushed & groomed, her long hair got so matted that she had to get it almost all shaved off on her back, & we saw that the skin on her back was also partly pink, partly black.
Consider the cat's general health (does it seem lively & alert for its age & so forth). If you have doubts, call around & find an affordable vet.

Stop stressing. Many cats have irregular pigmentation on their gums. Generally nothing to worry about.
In the event it has something more serious, it never hurts to keep an eye on something though. If you notice any changes, take the cat to a vet.

It's totally normal. Don't worry. I think of them as like, kind of birth marks or freckles because they never go away, I know, weird comparison. It is good that you care about your cat that much though.
My cat is black and white, her gums are pink, but the roof of her mouth is like a black design. Its cute and I bet your cat is too. =)

The black spot is most likely just pigmentation. My cat has a lot of black spots too and the vet never said anything abut them... so, not to worry.

It is very normal for cats to have both light and dark colored gums. For example, tortoiseshell cats frequently have both pink and dark gums. If your cat is acting well, don't worry!

It is genetic. Just like you having blond or brunette hair (natural hair color). There is no problem unless the teeth are decayed. If the teeth are decayed then you should take the pet to the vet.
