To all my dear Catholic brethern: exactly WHERE is Vatican II binding? It is a pastoral council, not dogmatic. Nothing was clarified in Vatican II, in fact confusion reigns, that isn't of a sound council to me....

As for as your question, Trad Catholics actually are what some Trads believe to be the 'remnants' of their Faith ( I think that is a bit presumptuous though) So few Catholic post VII era know little about their faith in its entirety. And I find that sad. The fact is, is the both thoughts are valid. I chose. when in doubt, to do nothing. Which means, if I doubt VII then I must revert to what was known and accepted until clarification is made. Hence, I attend only Tridentine Mass.

It is not wrong to participate in Pre-Vatican II spirituality to the extent that the Church allows, such as attending an approved Latin Mass. It is certainly wrong to reject as invalid the holy teaching of God's Church that came out of Vatican II. The Holy Spirit speaks through such councils, and all true Catholics follow His voice, accepting the promises of Christ to His Church, "he who hears you hears Me"; "whatsoever you bind upon earth is bound in heaven".

no as long as you recognize the validity of post Vatican II Liturgy and Theology. We cannot say "And the gates of Hell shall not prevail against her" and then say that they did. It doesn't make any sense. As long as it is actually from the Vatican. We have some trouble from some of the Liberal Bishops but other than that....

i think it varies according to specific questions and tennents. just as the old testament became "old" when Christ was born, lived, died and rose creating the New Testament - the old ways can share and enlighten.
