So I now like my ex-boyfriend's good friend. They are not best friends but are pretty close. They sit at the same lunch table and everything so they are pretty tight. I went out with my ex for two weeks then I broke up with him. Everyone at school knew about it and I didn't like him all that much, just desperate for a 1st boyfriend, I guess. I know that sounds mean but whatever. Anyway, I am in 8th grade and he is a few weeks older than me so we are close in age, and I really like him. My ex and I weren't serious, just hugging. No kissing or anything like that. The guy I like now used to have a girlfriend, but now he is single and he went out with her for way longer and we have been flirting a lot lately. So he calls me "Bloody" Mary in a teasing sort of way. Since my ex and I weren't serious do you think he would ever date me? I told the whole school I didn't really like my ex. He probably heard. We make eye contact often and smile. Please answer this time because last time I got 0!

Before my volleyball game last week I was stretching in the hallway, and he was waiting for his mom after school and he was I THINK checking me out in my spandex volleyball shorts, but I'm not sure. Does he like me? I am trying to keep it casual, but I just don't know! Should I tell him I like him? He is very cute, and I'm sure other girls like him, so I don't know what to do. I don't have his email or anything, so I can't email him. Should I talk to my ex about it? I don't ever want to talk to him about it though. It was only two weeks after all.

You're in the 8th grade! Get over it, seriously do you think all girls your age have that problem?

Well I know exactly where you are coming from. You should just talk to him more and make sure he sees your not some mean heart breaker. I mean it was only 2 weeks right? But still people have a tendency to stretch stories when with there friends! Oh yea and by the way, Teasing is flirting! lol! Oh yea and whatever you do DON'T ask him. Let him ask you, that way you feel more free when/if you guys get serious.

You just need to get up the nerve to ask him out if he is teasing you and staring at you and flirting with you, He is interested but if he was with his ex for a long time he may be giving himself a little time before getting together with another girl just to show his ex he isn't such a jerk. You never know until you try maybe write a nice note and give it to him at lunch time or after school this sometimes can lead to something.
Remember actions are the only way things happen.

how about you make an opportunity for him to show if he likes you the way you like him. Perhaps, you join them @ lunch time. After all, you used to go out with the ex, so it is only natural if you say hello to hem and ask if you can join in. I know, it is kinda bold. but don't you think it's about time that girls can be assertive a little bit or have a go first. otherwise, we just sit in the corner bitting our nail waiting the miracle to happen. Remember , guys also feel nervous too abouot telling girls they have a feeling.....

Wow. I think one of my suggestions is not to rush things. You are not very old and trust me, there is plenty of time to get caught up in things like relationships. The second thing is that you are interested in someone who is a friend of someone you were with, even if it was just two weeks. You and the friend getting involved could cause problems for the two of them. Either you or the friend should talk to your ex and ask him if the two of you gettin' involved would be a problem for your ex. Like it or not, it matters.
