I have nothing at all against it, or against Muslims. I think most people who want to know about it can benefit from the truth.

Which people?
In America, people generally know very little, if anything about Islam. Most of them don't even know the 5 pillars of Islam, anything about Mohammed, or the Quran. All they know is what they hear on the news about violent terrorist killings, the pictures they see of Muslims burning American flags and chanting, "Death to America! Death to the West!," and what they see and read in pop culture.
I don't think the majority of Americans think there is any truth to Islam or want to know about it. Most Americans identify themselves as Christians, (over 80%) and Christians tend to think that Islam is a false and evil religion.
That's what I see from observing people anyway.

From what I understand, Islam is a very peaceful religion. Those who are muslim study teh Quran and worship Mohammed as thei prophet or God. ( I am not sure which) Unfortunatly, Whenever people hear about Islam and Muslims, its the Radical side such as Osama bin Laden or the Iranian President. This is giving Islam a bad wrap.

I think Islam is as reasonable a religion as any other, and is practiced in the main by people much like anyone else, trying to make sense of a random and unpredictable universe.

I think it's one of the better religions out there - obviously it has it's fundamental nutjobs that misinterpret the message, but so does christianity - muslims are generally educated and willing to accept scientific facts, accepting of others, nonviolent, good neighbours, etc. I'd be interested to learn more about Islam, I enjoy religion.

I think a majority of muslims are God-loving, peaceful people, with love in their heart for their God and mankind.
However, with any religion, comes the fanatics. These bastards will take a little piece of a religion and use it to destroy the very meaning of the message and transform a loving relationship with God into a weapon of hate. Unfortunately, all religions have this issue in one form or another, and they show themselves in varying ways, from Crusades and Jihad, all the way down to exclusion (gender and orientation) and other subtle fanaticism.
Perhaps this is a by-product of a need to identify with their belief system (I'm a better muslim/christian/hindu than you are, look at the lengths I will go to to show my dedication), or perhaps it's a cover for other issues (I've always hated gays, and now my religion allows me to kill them in the name of Allah/Jahweh/Jesus).
Either way, it's a sad day when the fanatics are running the mosque/church/temple

You don't give the honest truth. You spin yarns while your OFFICIALS call Australian women pieces of meat, say it's cool to beat your wife. Some of your tribes marry off 4 year old girls without batting an eye and then the family beats them. Rape victions get beaten along with the rapists. Would you like some links.

What we see of Islam is not very good. We see people who claim the faith, murdering people on wholsale levels and on one from Islam will come out and speak against it.
Muslims will murder, Jews, Christians and other Muslims in the name of religion. Yet Islam claims Moses as a prophet, so islam must also claim the 10 Commandments also. Yet breaking them means nothing. In fact by the faith they claim that murdering the innocent will earn them a way in to heaven.
But is that what will save the soul?
Are you a good person? What a question, most of us believe that we are good people because we can look around and find someone that is far worse than we are. We can always point to the things that we think make us a good person.
But how good are we really? Dare we take this test and look at ourselves and see if we really are good? Hmmm.
If you are willing try this and see just how good a person you are.
The Good Person Test.
How will you do? Pass or fail?
Have you ever told a lie?
Doesn't matter how big or small, just a lie.
What does that make you? Before answering think about this, if I told you a lie what would you call me? A liar?
Have you ever stolen anything? Cost doesn't matter, a piece of gum, failed to give back an ink pen that you borrowed, anything.
What does that make you?
Jesus said, "You know the saying of old, you shall not commit adultery but I say that if look at someone to lust after them you have committed adultery in your heart.
Have you ever lusted?
Jesus said that hate is equal to murder.
Have you ever hated anyone?
See one day we all are going to stand before a Holy God on Judgment Day and he is going to judge us based on His Holy Law, the Ten Commandments. These are just 4 of them and how did you do? Guilty? I have broken all of these and more, what about you? How well will you do on Judgment Day?
If we break just one point of God's Law we are guilty of breaking all the law and Gods Wrath abides upon us all. Based on God's Law we are all guilty and all are deserving of punishment. But there is an out for us.
Jesus paid the price for each one of us, took on himself God's Wrath so we wouldn't have to face it on our own. Jesus was beaten, battered, bleed and died so we wouldn't have to face God's Wrath. He rose again so that we would life in his presence. Our crimes, His payment.
The real question is where will you stand on Judgment Day. Pay yourself or have it paid for you. Think about it.

It has been manipulated and used to commit atrocious acts in recent years. The fact that they can justify killing innocent people based on their religion irks me. Of course every religion, culture, nationality, etc. is going to have it's share of loonies.
As a religion, it needs to progress and allow for more equality. Gender equality for one, is an issue. It has the same fundamental roots as Christianity and Judaism. I don't really care for either of them much more or less.

As good as the other religions... That means useless ;-)
Oh, and guys will you please stop believing that biased side of Islam that our governments throw at us.
Yes the radicals, as any others radicals, give Islam a bad name.
But how many are they (radicals)? What proportion? I'd say not too many of them actually! Correct me if I'm wrong...
