Hi,d m .All speakers sound different while trying to do the same thing.Speakers are the hardest component to buy because they all sound different. One of the biggest differences among speakers is the way they radiate the sound. Most modern speakers have their drivers on the front panel to give a forward radiation pattern.Others believe that multiple drivers at various angles radiate most of their sound off walls ceiling etc.to give a diffused sound similar to a live event.About 1972 Dr.Amar Bose introduced his Bose 901 speaker which had 8 4inch full range drivers in the back and 1 in the front. It was a pretty impressive sound back then .the speakers could go down to 20HZ! which was unheard of back then. When i had a chance to listen to them at the first Australian HI FI show i was less than impressed the speakers sounded muffled and instruments were hard to pick out .A pair of early Klipsch horn loaded huge speakers were playing in the next room.they put the Bose to shame. So to answer your question you do hear a difference with Bose.
Regards,Rob.

Only at the cash register.
Speakers are speakers.
It is the music that makes the difference.
