They say carbs stick with you the longest. I know for a fact the food and the sleep not the night before your sporting event but two nights before your big game/ meet is the meal and sleep that counts the most. My athletic trainer in high school always told me that marinara sauce slows you down. Try good carbs for the two nights before gymnastics and then eat low sugar fruit the day of so you dont crash
