Here are some American History notes for those liberals among us who want to hide behind some technicality of words by saying "We are not bashing the troops, we are bashing the president."
Point #1: The President of the United States is the Commander in Chief of all military forces. Therefore, to bash or blame him you must bash or blame the military for it is our duty to support and follow his commands.
Point #2: The President of the United States of America swears to defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies... Now, unlike draft dodging hypocrites we had in office between Jan1993-Jan2001, Pres. Bush has actually answered that call to fight those threatening our nation.
Point #3: Contrary to the typical media bias (which has been proven to be extremely liberal) WMDs were used and found in Iraq.
Point #4: Pres. Bush did not kill ANY US troops. Why is it that liberals always blame the wrong people? Insurgents set up an IED and kill an American soldier, they blame Bush. A psycho guns down innocent people, they blame the gun factories. Some illegal from another country invades our border bringing drugs and a desire to do harm and they blame the American heroes trying to defend our borders.

I have never seen or heard anyone bashing any servicemen and women. As I read through some of the replies, I saw the one about America being divided and such. Unfortunately that is true. But there are some things that do need to be said. If you were to create a person out of the spirit of America, then place a lump of coal in a hand, in about 30 seconds you would have the most perfect diamond in the world. We are only divided because of our leaders. I am a registered independent. I agree with somethings that both parties say and hate some things that they also say. I am a veteran of the Army, and even though i have never seen combat, I feel the need to say this, If we were allowed to do what it takes to win the war, as long as it is legal and morally right, then we could win the war in 30 days or less. But we cant because the sniveling, whining, yellow politicians won't let us because it would make us the pariahs in the world view. As if that were even possible now. The world has watched us fight amongst ourselves for the last 5 years. Do you really think that anything is going to change?

You hit the nail on the head! I have never seen or heard anyone bashing American soldiers in Iraq. The non-existence bashing is only George W. Bush's spin that if you do not support the war in Iraq then you do not support the troops, hence, the so-called bashing the American soldiers.

I think that the whole premise for fighting in Iraq is questionable, but I'd be there in a minute to protect the lives of my fellow soldiers (I'm a Viet-era veteran). DON'T bash that soldiers... Bash the s--- out of the war.

It is not Republicans who are bashing the Troops, it is Liberals who are doing that. Firefighters know they could die fighting a Fire, Police Officers know they could get killed fighting Crime. Im a Republican myself and in my opinion only those who are willing to fight in a War should be signing up, anyone who does not wanna go to War should not join in the 1st place. It is the Democrats who are bashing the troops especially the ones who call the Troops Terrorists like Cindy Sheehan.

Not supporting the war is bashing the American soldiers in Iraq. You are saying that they are risking their lives every day for nothing, and you don't even appreciate it. That is bashing them if you ask me.

Believe me it happens! Yahoo Answers is full of American troop haters! I went through my answers to pull some of the questions for you, but it seems a lot them got deleted. But it happens all the time. People saying that anyone who joins the military deserves to die... that we are doing nothing more than killing innocent civilians, blah blah blah... It's horrible and very, very disheartening for those of us who are here. Before I came to Iraq, I thought that even though a lot of people were against the war, *everyone* supported the troops. Evidently that is not the case.
And personally, I agree with the above poster: if you are not supporting our efforts here (ie, the war itself) then you are not truly supporting the troops.
Here are some questions that I was able to find: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aoo9chxr1dUiQ9i3d8K11uQAAAAA?qid=20070311172038AAW4Unn&show=7#profile-info-3G1qjceFaa

you are kidding right? have you been to a protest? half the people there call out troops terrorists, murders, rapists, thieves etc...
there really is no shame with these people. I know because I have seen them in person and up close (well as close as I wanted to get). they make lies and accusations like the US soldiers are mercenaries hied by Israel to kill ever Arab.
it is disgusting.
believe me it happens, you just have yo look it up and you will see it.
look at Cindy shehans early quotes (not the ones edited by her handlers) and she makes disgusting comments about our service personnel, comparing them to murders.
there are plenty of people bashing the troops. it is not a "talking point" it is a fact.

I dont know where you live, but when I lived in massachussetts, I heard people say only stupid people went into the military, and that soldiers were murderers and all sorts of things.
I rarely ever heard anything good, if at all.
