Well I was wondering, What types of BBQ's need Coals and what ones dont? We just bought a Natural Gas BBQ and we are wondering do you have to use coals in them? Or is that only on Propane ones?

natural gas means you need to run a gas line to it. you only use coals on a non gas BBQ. dont put coals on any gas style que. you can make a smoker for it. cut a coffee can down to fit and put nail holes in the bottom. then put it in the corner of your gas BBQ and put damp wood chips in it. you can get chips at the store if you don't have access to red oak or hickory trees for their bark. it will make the meat taste just like at the better BBQ places.

You the lava rocks in the natural gas and propane barbecues. The lava rock catches the dripping and makes smoke so it smells and tastes like it's been charcoal grilled. Usually the lava rock comes with the BBQ or you can get it a Home Depot
