I am already on meds to help with this. They have helped. The problem is I over think things. I will think of something that will never ever happen and get so worried and have an attack. I hate when this happens. I started having them after my family was killed in a car accident but that was in 95'.

I suffer from anxiety attacks as well as panic attacks. The meds don't help me 100%, so what I do when I feel a panic attack come one, is stop what I'm doing if possible and do breathing patterns. Inhale through your nose hold for5 seconds and exhale through mouth. Make up little breathing patterns(whatever you are comfortable with) and concentrate on the breathing, counting and the patterns of your breathing. I have a few that help me along with the counting, and as long as I am able to concentrate on them, the panic attacks pass and I'm able to move right through them. They also work even if you can not stop what it is you are doing. I hope if you try this, it will help you. I have my attacks daily sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. Good Luck!

When I have a panic attack I try to keep calm and not let people around me notice. Sometimes others will make you more nervous. Try to breath slowly. Use the triangle method. Some one taught me this. In 2 3. out 2 3. Think it in your head and do it. Even though the accident was in 95 it is still a traumatic experience. Try talking to someone. Allow someone to help you through it.

are you seeing a therapist too? They will have coping skills to help you too...but the meds are good too. I'm sorry you had to go through your family's death. I think you are on the right track for help with the meds...just try to seek a counselor or therapist too though! :)

i really know where you are coming from.. panic attacks suck bad!!... breathing really helps and so does walking or company.. someone your really enjoy spending time with really helps..even if you don't talk about whats bothering you... just try to think rational thoughts and get help if it gets overwhelming ... keep healthy :)
