I have an unwanted house guest and she won't leave, she's been here a little more than a week and I'm about to go crazy. All she does is talk on her cell phone with her boyfriend and it drives me nuts during the night! She doesn't have a job and it's really startin to tick me off. What should I do? Oh and one more thing, her mom kicked her out of the house so she came to stay with me. Thanks for all the help in advance!

Tell her that if she is to continue staying there that the two of you will have to come up with some ground rules to make it more bareable for both of you. Then talk to her about helping out with the bills and getting a job.

The best way to get rid of an unwanted house guest is to be honest with her... Tell her that you need your space, that you thought you could handle having a house guest but you just can't do it anymore. Imagine... if her mom couldn't take her, how do you expect to??? Be honest. Brutally honest.

Now we know how she got kicked out.

As the generous and fair house owner you can be the boss here. Does your foot hurt? Then put it DOWN! This guest needs to abide by your rules.

Cell phone off at the bedtime you name, or it's street time again.

"GET OUT!! Now, not next week, not tomorrow, but now. You are a blood-sucking leech, and there's no more blood left, so go. Make like a tree and leave. Be cow chips and hit the trail. Get a job and pay for your own place. Move in with your boyfriend and save cell minutes. Get your own life and let me have mine. Go. Adios, bon voyage, GOOD BYE!!"

How's that for subtle?

Mention tactfully that she is gonna have to carry her own, as it were. No one lives anywhere for free. I could barely feed myself before my mom started tallying every penny that was spent on me.

I know... It's like the "guest from hell," right? It's so weird that some people have no idea of the concept of tact. It can't be taught. So, you may come off as unreasonable to her when you mention these things finally, but you're not.

I had a friend like that in college. She didn't have a job, she got kicked out of school for bad grades. She just mooched off of others and went from place to place. She lived with me for awhile and I finally had to tell her it was time for her to go home or find her own place. She lived a couple more places with other friends, but eventually they all got fed up with her. It'll make her mad, but you have to protect yourself here. Tell her it's time she takes care of herself, or just tell her it's not working with her living there. Good Luck.

You have to set a dead line for her to move out because a family member is coming to stay with you. You have to call a family member to go along with this first. I do not want to make a liar out of you. This should work and will save face.

Tell her kindly, but firmly that you cannot afford to support her and that she must leave. Give her a one day warning. Tell her that she needs to be gone by the following day. You can soften it by saying that you have really enjoyed having her, but cannot afford to support the two of you and you regret having to put her out but....." If she isn't gone by the following day, then you have to get tough even if it means losing her friendship.

Try to be as annoying, or worse, as she is, if she talks on her phone at night, then blast your tv while she is on it, or maybe go in her room and vacuum while she is doing something quietly, try to drive HER crazy enough to get her out
its mean, but thats what i would do,
