It usually means you are an original, "one of a kind" a" piece of work" would normally refer to a piece of art." Unique". Even if the person was upset at the time, unless you did something so unique like sleep with his mom, I would definitely take it as a compliment, even if given begrudgingly...Mary

LoL, depends on HOW it is said.....
Like if you do something cute and they go, witha smile "You're a peice of work".... it could mean You are funny, your are crazy, you are somthing else.
But if you do something that pisses people off and they go "You're a peice of f*cking work!".... that basically means that you are a di*k.
