I can tell you one place you SHOULDN'T go: Daejon City. Not only is it boring beyond belief, but also everyone drives like 3 miles an hour.

How about one fantastic reason?

I strongly recommend the take the DMZ tour.

This is an escorted tour to the Demilitarized Zone, that separates North from South Korea.

You will come face to face with North Koreans, who are trained from birth to hate you, and will kill you without hesitation if told to do so.

You will get goosebumps numerous times while there.

I have taken this tour previously; it's spooky !!

But, it's very informative. If you're lucky on the day you go, you might be able to stand on the North Korean side (inside) of the building which held the Armistice talks.

You will constantly have North Korean Guards stare at you with hatred in their eyes.

If the opportunity presents itself, definitely purchase for yourself one of the DMZ Barbwire Plaques. These were issued on the 50th Anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War. Be sure you get one with a serial number!!

I believe they will become extremely valuable once North Korea implodes upon itself.

If you guys are staying in Seoul, then here are some places that are pretty interesting. Techno Mart is a sorta mall filled with digital devices (computers, cameras, mp3s...etc) and there's also some clothes shops, Korean ice cream places, restaurants(9th floor&1st), a movie theater(top floor).

It's probably going to be really hot and humid, as korean summers usually are. A korean dessert called 'bat ping su' is really popular in the summertime. It's basically crushed ice, red beans/atsuki beans, mochi, ice cream and fruits. It's really good :]

There's a college called Kondae Unniversity and in front of the univ there's a really popular street filled with intresting stores(like suvinors, clothes, candy shops, food shops, ice cream places, starbucks, and many more.) There's also this really fun 'Bat ping su' shop. It's called "Lime Coco" and it's a little hard to find, but it's a bat ping su place with swings and rocking chairs to sit on instead of normal chairs. Ask for the King bing su>good stuff ;D
Directions: Take the subway Kondae Unniversity Entrance, or something similar to that. (line 7)

If you'd like to do something outdoors Teuksom/Tooksom Resourt is a great place to go. They have a swimming pool, duck shaped boats, two persons bikes, as well as normal bikes to rent, basketball courts, playgrounds, and plain grass fields(which there isn't too much in seoul, they use sand fields instead of grass) Directions: take the subway to line7 and stop at 'Tooksom Resourt/Teuksom Resourt. I'm not sure what number exit it is though. But don't be afriad to ask around. Most koreans are really nice and inviting, especially if you are a forigner. Even if you can't speak the language, use as much body language and speak simple words(most koreans speak basic eng words). You might even meet some people who speak english fluently.

Yeah, and Myung Dong(line4 near the middle of the subway map) is filled with good shopping places too.

There's an amusement park called Lotte World, which has awesome rides. It's on line8 and stop at Jamsill.
There's also another shopping place in front of Ee Hwa Unniversity, and if you can find it, theres one street with indian-ish clothes and bags and neat stuff. The great thing about korea is that you can haggle for anything, which I was never too good at. But if you go at it you can get pretty good deals. Try it, it's fun ;] Ee Hwa is on line 2. The stop's called Ee Dae in korean, but in english I think its just called Ee Hwa Womens Unniversity.

Oh yeah, at the subway stations you can ask for a map in english. Yeah, hope this helps & you meet that band. If you need anything else, feel free to ask.

Best to go by tours and extend during yr last leg. In this way, u r making full use of yr money's worth. Go the local travel agency n u will get to visit some of the worthwhile spot most tours do not include in their iternary. If u hv time, visit the remote area and feel the atmosphere n rub shoulders with the locals! Happy touring

I think most of the love motel makes a great accomodation place...dun mind the name but it is true.. some love motel in Seoul looks so much better than hotel! and so much cheaper also!!! Try to have the meals along the road side.. Those are really good...Stay away with Kalbi as beef is really expensive there.. do try drinking their soju, bekseju or osipsoju...Those are good guy... Have em with some small dishes and kimchi stuff.. Will remember em for life... Cheers!

There is tons of things to do in Korea. It will be hot so if you don't like humidity then find things to do indoors. Also, remember that the monsoons start in July. You should go to Coex mall it is on subway line number 2 and also on the same subway line is Lotte world. In the downtown area also on line 2 there is city hall and there are lots of Korean palaces around there. You might like Myeong-dong for shopping.
Here is a address and phone number of a bed and breakfast my mother and I stayed at. The house is beautiful it is in one of the richest area's of Seoul. Near City hall. It is beautiful in that area. There are lots of great restaurants around there and also the owners of the house are good at telling you fun places to visit.
