You know a fever is your body's way of fighting bacteria or viruses, so it's not necessary to try to lower a fever just because it's there. However, if you're feeling bad because of that fever and the underlying cause, you certainly should take something to help yourself feel better. It won't hurt you to do so.

Take a couple tylenol, drink a big glass of cool liquid, crawl under the sheets and get some sleep. You can try putting a cool cloth on your forehead, and even small ice bags under your armpits or on your groin to help lower the temp. Just make sure you don't start shivering because that will cause the temp to rise.

Now, go to bed and get the sleep you also need to fight off your virus!! :)

Take a lot of fluids... This way, insensible lost through sweat maybe replace, Take acetaminophen, for ur fever and head ache.Actaminophen has atipyretic and analgesic effect,... wear thin cool clothes, do sponge bath... especially in your groine and in your armpit. Consider also eating foods rich in vitamin C or take ascorbic acid to increase your immune system nd finally.. take a lot of rest and sleep for your body to recover.. since being sick really is stressful

Your temperature is important as to what you do. It's easy to have a high fever of 103+ and not know it. Tylenol is the safest to take, the AMA has evidence that aspirin and nsaids can make things worse as the can prolong.the underlying condition. Take your temp, take acetaminophen and try to drink as much water or juice you can stand. the important thing is your temperature . hope you feel better soon

There is no benfit to sweating it out dear, that's a dangerous old wive's tale. If you're able to take your temperature and it's over 104 you have to get to an ER right away. If yo have a fever of 101 or above for over 3 days get to an ER. If your fever stays at or above 100.6 get thee to an ER.

You could have a serious illness, or you could have a bug. I'd love to know how you know the difference!

But an Ice Cold rag on your forehead and take a tylenol. At the hospital I had a 105.6 fever so they put me in an ice bath. IT WAS FREEZING! But at least Im alive.

You should take your temp. and see how high it is. Go take some ibuprofen. It'll help your head and the fever. Why suffer??
