I find I'm a bit down and negative lately. What food should I stock up on to get a 'good feeling boost'. Also, if you want to add, what should I avoid?

Carbohydrates. Why do you think people on the Atkins diet are so miserable? It's not because they're hungry. They can eat as much food as they want. But carbohydrates stimulate release of neurotransmitters that make you happy.

Oh, and somebody said to decreas carbs to increase energy? Carbs are packs of energy. Long term energy. It's a good idea to eat pasta the day before doing something strenous to stock up. It breaks down slowly, so it's time-released.

Foods rich in omega 3/6/9 oils. Hemp seed oil is the best source as are fish like salmon and herring. The 3/6/9 mix feeds the mind!

Any comfort food can make you feel better. Stay away from them, so you don't gain weight. Instead, you should go on a walk or do another form of exercise. I hope you feel better soon.

For me it's chocolate. Two squaws of dark chocolate every day makes me happy. Stay away from fatty foods, too much meat, fried foods, and fast foods. Lots of veggies, fruit, chicken, Turkey, limit sweets and white bread. It does it for me.
