On "who was marys father-in-law part I
I received answers from mostly Catholics stating that Joseph was her husband, Jacob was his father so Jacob was Marys father-in-law.

Mary's father was Heli
Mary's father-in-law was Jacob.
Mary had no direct relationship to God the father other that being a child of God, like you and me.

There are reasons for the difference in the genealogies between Luke and Matt. Most Christians will not know this, some will. Most Christians are not Bible scholars, and neither are those who mock them. Any conservative commentary on Luke and Matthew can help you.

Mary and Joseph were distant relatives as was common.

Matthew 1:16 "And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary...."

Her relationship to God is just the one woman who God found favor over all the women of her time to bore His Son.

Edit.. to the first poster... Heli is MARY's father... trace the two lineages you will see that and if you have Jesus in your life..... you will understand the two lineages.

Censorship was from the male of the family. It was NOT common for the females of that day to register their families. The Bible explains the two lineages very well. One is Joseph lineage... the other is registered from the husband of Mary, giving Mary's lineage all the way back to Adam. This one is in Luke!!!!

Joseph lineage can also be traced back to Adam, but Matthew stopped at David. Joseph comes from the Solomon, the son of David. Mary comes from Nathan, the son of David.

Simply human, there was nothing special in her relationship with God. She was, by modern standards, a girl who was willing to submit herself to God's will.

Joseph's father was either Eli (possibly Heli, they are indistinguishable in the Greek manuscripts of the New Testament) or Jakob. The names differ in the 2 listings of Jesus' family line.

Matthew 1:16 Jacob was the father of Joseph. Joseph was the husband of Mary. And Mary gave birth to Jesus, who is called Christ.

Luke 3:23 Jesus was about 30 years old when he began his special work for God and others. It was thought that he was the son of Joseph. Joseph was the son of Heli.

Most likely, one of these was his biological father and the other his legal father, either by adoption or "brother-in-law marriage" as described in Deuteronomy 25:5.

The claim that one of these represents Mary's family line IS NOT IN ANY WAY supported by the language or in the culture of the times. BOTH evangelists expressly state that Joseph WAS NOT the father of Jesus IN THE IMMEDIATE CONTEXT OF THEIR LIST. BOTH lists EXPRESSLY represent themselves as JOSEPH'S family line. It is ONLY REASONABLE to presume that their statements are BOTH TRUE and proceed on that basis in our study.

Dt. 25:5 Suppose two brothers are living near each other. And one of them dies without having a son. Then his widow must not get married to anyone outside the family. Her husband’s brother should marry her. That’s what a brother-in-law is supposed to do. 6 Her first baby boy will be named after her first husband. Then the dead man’s name will not be wiped out in Israel.

Actually, one part of the Bible says Joseph's father was Jacob, another says it was Heli.

What relationship was she to God the Father? Ummmm...incubator?

Matt 1:16 "And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ"

Luke, 3:23 "And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli"

Joseph's father's name I believe was Heli look in the bible, it is in Mathew and in Luke.
Both Mary and Joseph's grandfather was Jacob and to go back even further in time...the also share other grandparents, starting with Methuselah.
Jesus is not God. Jesus is God's Son and Mary was his earthly mother.

She, at her own confession, was the Lord's hand maiden. That is his servant. In truth that is what we all are, but we are also considered children of God.

I'm not comprehending your line of reasoning here. She was an humble servant of God
