I got stitches in my finger after i accidentally cut it with an exacto knife. My mom took the stitches out because she is a nurse, but there is still a part left in there. It is the part where the stitch goes under the skin. i was afraid for her to pull it out and it still hasn't been pulled out. How long can i keep it in? What will happen if i never take it out? Will it work its way out eventually? How bad will it hurt?

You should definantly let your mama get it out for you- she'd feel real bad if you got an infection from it- it may work it's way out- but you should get it out- you can probably just pull and it will come, but if not, tell your mom- put some ice on it first so its numb if you are worried about it hurting. Best of Luck, darling.

These are obviously not disposable stitches. So get it out as soon as possible. Let MOM do it and put up with the small amount of pain you will feel. It will be about the same as removing a splinter. Infection can set in if left in.

It will be like removing a splinter. That,s not bad at all. When i was a kid i tore my arm on a barb wire fence and had a lot of stitch's. And the stitches inside were never taken out so i guess it cool to leave them in.
