There was a man who live in a country who was a very smart man. The king of the country was jealous of the man and wanted to trick him. He told the man to go out and count all of the sparrows in the country and the next day the king would count all of them to see if he was correct. The smart man then went home and made no effort in counting the sparrows. The next day, he went back to the king and told him "I counted 1000 sparrows. If there are less when you count, they would have migrated south. If there are more, more sparrows would have migrated here."

Sure, he is a very clever - and intelligent - man. This shows us that what we learn from school and textbooks would be nothing if we never learn to think like this guy. We should apply our logic and common sense too.

He's not clever. Upsetting a king might end a life. A smart man would have rendered much praise and compliments to the king and humbled himself.

This man is clever but anyone with any wit in them would do that. You would have to be stupid to actually count all of the sparrows.

omg! I saw that in a kids magazine once! And I think that's a stupid answer. what are the chances they migrated? unless of course, the seasons were changing at that time. He could have made it more realistic. Unless, of course, he just wanted to be a smartass with the king, in which case, time for an ***-whooping!
