If you are asking if people are a particular religion, or if people worship a certain way based on how they were taught and where they grew up, I definitely say yes. One only has to look at this country and other countries to notice that certain locales have particularly strong religious traditions (India - Hinduism, Pakistan and the Middle East - Islam, Western Europe and America - Christianity). For example, anyone who thinks that they would still be a Lutheran if they were born in Tibet probably either has an over-inflated sense of destiny, or they don't know anything about the deep religious traditions of Tibet.
That being said, I think that people's faith in God is something that is probably more innate in their being, and the only change is how they express it. I think that someone who is extremely passionate about their religion would probably be just as passionate if they adhered to another religious persuation. i.e. - If you are a great Baptist, you probably would have been a great Hindu, were you to have been born in Calcutta.

No. Funny you should ask this question actually. Pesonally, my love for God is a very different love from any love I've known in this life. It's hard to explain. I know I love Him and revere Him because He has given me this life to live with all its wonderful blessings down to the very breaths I take. But the love I FEEL is different than the one I know. I don't know if that makes sense to you. It's a bond yet not really a feeling of closeness as my human senses would assume. It's a comfort I feel when I'm alone and in pain in the dark before the early morning dawn. It wraps it me up in a cocoon as I lie there in the fetal position on my prayer rug or in my bed. Basically it's like a love I've never known.

no,but I love you because God told me to.
The love I have for God can not be commanded, it doesn't come from being bullied or taken by the hand and forced to love. Love, real love does not come from fear, it removes fear and is the result of desire.
So let me sum it up this way, another word for my love for God would be Desire, I desire God and want to know Him better and serve Him faithfully.
Desire = TRUE love!!!!!

I am one of those stubborn people that won't let people tell me what to do. I have been like this since I was a little kid.
I like to find things out for myself. I went to find God. I found Him. I love Him! I want to live my life for Him. Nothing that anyone could ever try to tell me could change my relationship with Him.

No. I love God for many reasons. None of them have anything to do with anything I was ever taught.

people often follow the customs of their parents and grandparents and so on... sometimes people practice certain religious customs/ceremonies and they dont know what the meaning is behind it... they were just taught to do that because it was part of their religion. so sometimes you are internalized to do things (in this case, love God), but sometimes dont understand the overall meaning of what you believe in
