There are a lot of different diseases that can cause this...as you can see from the variety of answers you have gotten so far. :) Generally low platelets are the first thing to consider, but these things can happen with other bleeding disorders as well. Here is a web site that talks about how to sort it all out:

Could be a number of reasons. A vitamin C deficiency, maybe low platelets, anemia. Some people bruise more easily than others because they do not have as much clotting factor in their blood. Or they could be anemic. Some medications can cause blood thinning. In your situation, the thing to do is not panic and see your family doctor to have some tests done.

A low platelet count which means if a sample of blood was taken it would take a long time to thicken or clot or to stop bleeding. Some measures that are taken would be to check your pt/inr at the dr's office to see what your range is. you may need some vit k which you can get by eating green leafy vegetables, cauliflower, grain products, potatoes, fruits, low fat mild, low fat cheese, eggs or cabbage.... Good luck

I believe that one possible answer would be a disorder known as hemophilia. This is a hereditary condition which does not permit the blood to coagulate or imperfect coagulation which can result in uncontrollable bleeding from superficial cuts or possibly spontaneously.
