I'm pretty sure if you are a convicted felon of any degree in any state you cannot own a gun.

A 4th degree DWI should not be a Felony?? I am from SC so, I would assume that the laws are different there....As for possessing a firearm with a felony.....like everyone else has said, you are not allowed to posses a firearm or ammunition for that matter.....

Once you are convicted of a felony, you are not longer eligible to own/possess a firearm. If you are caught with a weapon post-conviction you are subject to federal prosecution as gun ownership is monitored by the ATF, which is a federal agency versus the state court in which you were convicted for DWI.

Gun laws for not owning with a felony are federal laws, if you are convicted of a felony you may not own a gun
