My 8 year old daughter Mirela is working on a project for her Sunday school class. It basically is a report on countries that really need our Christians to help and spread the gospel to non believers.

Although I've always been amazed that people are more worried about Africans getting food rather than Jesus, perhaps I'm actually almost numb to it at this point.

However, her research pointed out one major fact that I had never thought about previously....Over 95% of the citizens of China are not going to heaven.

It's amazing that a workforce that produces almost every knick knack and wearable in our country isn't wise enough to produce a love of Jesus. Once one goes to the gospel, of course they will obviously turn away from that silly Buddhist chanting stuff.

I knew that they were kind of slow and lacked freedom, but this is just ridiculous!

ridiculous? how racist can you be?

1) there ARE chinese christians
2) so you think spreading the gospel is more important than the famine and diseases in africa?
3) wise enough to love jesus? the chinese have been around for over four millenia, dating back to the egyptians, and you think jesus is their savior?
4) silly buddhist chanting stuff... haha... well, at least the buddhists havent waged any holy wars or any of that fundamentalist crap... there are many caucasian buddhists btw... dont christians chant and sing and dance?
5) slow? (well, maybe due to decades of communism), but if they were dumb, they wouldnt have a space program that will one day rival NASA, and the world's largest military and growing economy

i feel sorry not for you, but for your daughter for having such an ignorant mother

god bless

1) People care more about Africans getting food because these people need it to live and take care of their families.
2) Why are you so stubborn about Buddha? Why can't you accept Buddha? Why do you bother with your silly praying and asking Jesus for forgiveness when you haven't even done anything? it's the same concept.
3) Where ever did you hear the 95% of Chinese weren't going to heaven? There are so many good Chinese people in the world, how dare you stereotype and realize them like that.
4) As for daughter's report, I don't care what type of school she goes to or what you choose to believe, anyone who teaches people to be so accepting of the world's differences should not be allowed to teach. Especially parents. Children who grow in environments like that will only learn to teach future generations the same thing. Acceptance such as you and your daughter's school are demonstrating is despicable and will only lead to hate and blood shed. This Jesus of yours loves all things does he not? Live by his example and stop judging others because they believe differently than you do.

It is illegal to be a Christian in China. They still throw Pastors in jail, just for preaching the Gospel. The church has to meet in a different location every time they meet. To convert to Christianity is almost a federal offense, you become ostracized from your family, and job. Missionaries have to go in as school teachers, or medical personnel, and if they are found teaching about Jesus they are imprisoned and deported. When we send supplies to them we have to mark it as medical supplies.
Even with all these obstacles, the church is growing regardless of what some others have said on hear. The Chinese underground church is among the fastest growing in the world. You just do not hear about it because of the persecution facing them if caught.

You would do well to read the story of the missionary Hudson Taylor and his work and love for the Chinese people.
His was an approach of love which showed "yet a better way".
Jesus came not just to give Himself and the gospel, but He also came to set the captives free, to bring justice to the oppressed, to share a cup of water with the thirsty, to feed the hungry, and heal the broken hearted.
His was not a ministry of words only, but of action dedicated to the benefit of all of God's creation.

Nonetheless, that's 40 million Chinese Christians over there.

I guess food isn't really necessary when you have Jesus huh? Try going without food for a couple of months. See what happens.

Actually, you are wrong. Most of them are not slow. Studies show that the general nationality that scored the highest on IQ tests was the Asians. I guess you have to be REALLY slow to score high marks on that.

Maybe, because they are not intolerant judgmental hypocrites and they don't want to be either.

It looks like you just increased the number of Buddhists a little. Congratulations.

You cannot be serious. You believe people need Jesus more than food? You are exactly the type of "Christian" I avoid like the plague. Buddhism is looking more and more tempting...
