you could, but whats the point. the process of making chocolate involves so much equipment, time and probably will not result in a product better than the good quality ones out there.
the bean is separated into cocoa solids and cocoa butter (not sure what kind of machine does that)
i don't know much else about how it's made, but i know one crucial step is conching the chocolate which can take hours, or even days i think. it's a machine that continuously mixes the chocolate at a controlled temperature.
it's so difficult, expensive and apart from the satisfaction, it's not worth it.

but it's possible!

I suppose you could but it would be a lot of work! You'd need cocoa beans and a way to process them...maybe google could help...but I think it'd be more work than it's worth!

the actual chocolate bean comes from a cacao bean which comes from a cacao tree; i dont know if you are able to grow them without a license but im not sure. google or yahoo the question. thanks for asking! Hope this helps! =)
