The exact same thing happened to me, except I only used the straightening iron a couple times and my hair went from being really curly to hardly at all. It's been a couple months, and my hair is slowly getting it's curl back, but taking a long time! I've been using protein treatments; the best ones that I know of are Redken(I'm not sure what it's called but they're individual protein treatments you can buy at a hair salon) and Matrix Biolage 'cera-repair' treatments. The instructions say to leave them on for 5 mins or so, but i put mine on clean hair and leave it on all night. Redken also makes a product called 'Extreme anti-snap' that you put in your hair after you wash it to keep it from breaking.

I know these products work because my mom completely ruined her hair by chemically straightening it, and by using these products, she brought it almost completely back to normal. I'm still working on mine, but my hair is very unhealthy due to some other issues, so....

good luck, I know how much it sucks!

at least a month for it to be healthy again sry. If you do straight iron it in the future use a protective gel on your hair before you do it really helps.
