I don't believe in life after death personally,
but if you do, why would you wanna go to heaven?
Besides seeing all the people who died in your life,
what else would you do? Sit there? *help people on earth?* Talk about life on earth? I don't get it.
Even if you believe theres gonna be eternal life in a paradise, wouldn't it get boring after meeting everybody and seeing the whole world after a long time? Who cares if everythings perfect and dandy, how could you stand to not have any goals and not know anything OTHER than perfect?

and I DIDN'T ASK FOR PREACHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why can't people answer the question????? I was a Jehovah's Witness for 12 years I already know all the bunk they shove in your brain, the question was, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO LIVE FOREVER IN A PARADISE EITHER ON HEAVEN OR ON EARTH BECAUSE IF EVERYTHING IS PERFECT THEN WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?????
like someone answered, "to bask in God's glory?" that doesn't seem very meaningful to me.
Go ahead and think I'm another one of Satan's children out to get you, if you're just out to preach or slam me then DON'T ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its not the boring silly place that religion makes it out to be. It looks like a real party.

Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don

Wow, what do you think heaven is, a bunch of people sitting around on clouds, playing their harps? Are you bored when you get up in the morning? No, because you have things to do, places to go, people to see. When you get to heaven - which by the way is a misnomer, because actually, for eternity, God is making a new heaven and earth - you will have work to do. Do you think the angels are bored? They are busy always.

Jesus said of God the Father, "My Father is always working..." So will we be. The difference between the work we do there and what we do here is that our work will actually have some long lasting value. Everything we work for here is temporary. What we do in eternity will last forever.

And, there is no pain, no heart ache, no suffering, no thorns or thistles, no enemies, no wars. I'll bet you oppose the war in Iraq, right? Which means you oppose the conflict, loss of life, suffering, and injustices that war brings.

In other words, you want to live in a perfect world, a world where people love one another, care about each other, and do good, rather than harm to each other. So do I. I plan on spending eternity in perpetual motion, enjoying every moment of life, working without sweating, and being awed at the absolute wisdom of God in this wonderful new world He has created.

I believe in the paradise and living forever on earth. Haven't you ever had the perfect day that you wish could never end? On earth we have all the things we desire and no one looks forward to dying when they are healthy. I've never met a 20 year old that has said I've done everything that I want in life now I'm bored. As a matter of fact I've never met an elderly person who didn't wish they had more time. Its not a matter of meeting everyone and seeing everyone its enjoying their company and having fun together, building homes gardening ,mountain climbing, swimming or surfing in every ocean without the worry of shark attacks. in 100 years most people don't accomplish these things and I only mentioned a few things. You can live an eternity without getting bored.

Revelation 21
The New Jerusalem
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6 And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. 7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.

8 “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

I believe that this is what I have waiting for me up in heaven. If I don't get to go to heaven, the fiery lake of burning sulfer is the other alternative. I don't think so!

I don't know about heaven, but to live forever would be great. You wouldn't have goals? Aspirations? Desire to learn everything you could possibly learn? Every time we create something, then we could go back and learn everything we can about it. Test it, prove it's worth and workmanship.
You're saying if something is perfect, it won't change. But it would constantly be changing. For every change, you would have something else to do....
Example- if it was just here on earth. By the time you got to circle the earth and meet everyone, you'd have to go circle it again just to meet everyone that hadn't been born yet from your first outing. You could learn to be the best at every profession...the possibilities are endless.
I think it would be great. The push of life would be gone. The need to have everything right here, right now - gone. I could take my time and take care of myself and my family and friends.

My hope is to live forever on a Paradise Earth and serve Jehovah for an eternity while being taught by the one who taught Jesus.
Since Jesus has lived for countless billions of years, he is still learning from his heavenly father and is not disappointed or board.
Since he loved mankind enough to give us this hope the eternal life will be wonderful with plenty of things to do!

I imagine Heaven to be similar to life on earth MINUS;

hate, crime, racism, death, fear, anxiety, sadness, slavery, sickness, diseases, loneliness, depression, pollution, killing of animals, murder, drugs, alcohol, immorality, sorrow, hurt, unbelief, being poor, robbery, lies, divorce, adultery, aging, violence, hunger, war etc. I could go on.

God will be in charge forever (no more elections yeah!), and it will be beautiful just as described in Revelations. I think its worth it. Time will not exist in heaven. Time was made for man here on earth.

You will have a job according to your rewards. God runs a government and has His administration so I don't think you will get bored. There are other created beings besides humans. Don't forget the angels!

Heaven is the pinnacle of happiness. Have you ever noticed we're never "totally" happy on earth. Everything could be perfect, your job, spouse, kids yet were still not satisfied? Heaven is were that emptiness is finally dissipated because that's when we see God face to face. It's a totally different mindset to comprehend.

I wouldn't. Seems to be that its just a place to bask in some gods glory so that he knows how wonderful he is. Besides, according to Christianity, pretty much everyone is going to hell anyway. I'd rather suffer for eternity in hell with my family than bask in a selfish gods glory for eternity.

Well in heaven, there will be no hunger, we will thirst no more. It's hard to imagine being a perfect being not wanting for anything. It doesn't state, other than you can walk with Jesus and it will be a glorious time. WOO HOO and besides who wants to burn for eternity!!
