Abreva is spendy. There's an old school salve called campo-fin-ique...the spelling is off, but that's how it's pronounced. I've bought it from Walmart for $2.50. It's great. It dries the sore out and it literally shrinks in just a few days. It does sting, but it's worth not having the sore for long. Good luck:) P.S. to keep them away, use blistex to keep your lips sealed and moisturized. But make sure not to reinfect yourself w/a germy tube of lip balm:switch/clean them often.

a friend told me to use hemorrhoid cream as soon as you feel it coming on. There is also a vitamin called lysine that you can take everyday it is supposed to help. You can also go to your Dr and get a medicine called famvoir ( i think that is how you spell it) you take 1500mg one time and it never comes up, or thats what the drug reps say who sell it

get Eckerd brand natural L-formula Lysine in herbal section of drugstore, only available in the US not Canada. Worked very well for me on the recommendation of a friend.

They sell topical ointments in the drugstore for these. If they start getting bad, your doctor can prescribe a medication that will help.
