Yes. and by pulling our troops out of Iraq, you'd basically be rolling out a welcome mat for terrorists. If you don't support our soldiers, and they don't keep the terrorists in Iraq, when they show up on your doorstep, don't pretend you had no clue. The troops aren't there for their health if you hadn't figured that out. They're there to protect people like you, so you'd better be pretty grateful for that.

I would worry less about "looking weak" or "inspiring terrorists by a show of weakness", and more about the fact that current US policy in the Near East is quite clearly *creating* terrorists, and spreading support for terrorist ideologies in the region and beyond. There is no clear answer to this, and an immediate withdrawal would be unlikely to solve this problem. But there is almost nothing that the US could do by remaining in Iraq that won't make the situation worse, as well as most likely further inflaming sectarian conflicts in the region.
I say: cut your losses now. Iraq was a disaster, but it is probably not too late to prevent the whole region sliding into chaos.

The terrorists KNOW we are strong---that is why they hate our guts !! And, when it comes to appearances---only the weak give a rat's __rump about appearances---the truly strong simply act and let the chips fall where they may !!
But, Junior sealed our fate in Iraq when he invaded the country---was told that if he did this thing that he would be locking that country into a years long struggle against warring factions and lock US into the responsibility FOR it all--- he didn't care in the least bit---SO--- here we are !! And, we will be there forever !! All this Neocon talk about WHEN the Iraqi's have this fictional Ability to govern themselves and the military to control and defend the country IS GARBAGE---and ain't NEVER going to happen--- there is entirely too many factions at war for control and no sense of national identity anyway !!!
We have now successfully slaughtered FIVE TIMES MORE IRAQIs IN FOUR YEARS than the Hussein regime killed in its entire reign of death---and the administration still talks of How glad the "common" Iraqi is that we are there---- what the hell is that ??
War on terror----is an illusion----it denotes a physical contact of aggression against an etherical "ideal"---- the very concept is a fist fight with a cloud of fog !!! So, we are at "war"" with an "ideal" --- no central anything to beat down and bring to a negotiations summit ----no central authority to bring to an agreement---no attainable objective to over run and post colors over----- an "ideal" that will not end until every single radical mullah is shot in the head and every single "student" of radical thoughts is locked up and then you have to put the "thought police" into action to bring hundreds of thousands of "potential" terrorists into lockdown !! SOME VERY HEAVY WORK HERE and a very unlikely goal to be even dreaming that you'll ever attain !!!!
Lastly--- the "vulnerability to attack" thing---- If anyone thinks for a moment-- that current actions ANYWHERE is in any way a deterrent to actions that terrorists would take inside this country ---given any chance at all of success--- they are idiots !!! For our enemies would give anything to blow the living God out of us at any time they could--and I'm sure that they are planning just that ----somewhere--- in total spite of anything we're doing anywhere else on the planet !!
One thing is for sure here--- with the enemy body count continually rising---anyone that thinks for a moment that the brothers and cousins and nephews and uncles OF those people are going to be anything other than the new wave of Problems for us in the near future--- then they too are idiots !!

In a word yes...I think the bigger question is if we leave iraq before it is fairly stablizied it will craete a power vacum and syria/iran (possibly turkey) will fill it, then we will really have a hornets nest. We can't pull out until we get it fairly stable and the irai army/police are capable of dealing with most issues. We'll probably be there gaurding the borders and supplying quik raection forces and airpower for several more years.

yes and not only that it makes us look like idiots. because we made a mess in that country and left it with more problems it had to begin with. Makes us look like we left only because the terroists were putting up a good fight which makes us look like wimps.. Because we have a bunch of ignorant chumps that go againts staying in iraq and most of them dont even serve or have served In the military. However i bet if we were winning in Iraq people wouldnt care. You know why because people dont care if other ppl are suffering or dying they only care if they are benifiting from the war. they dont have loyalty and they dont know how to stick with what they asked form back in 9/11, people demanded we go to war because of that day. now people wanna bail out because they are a bunch pooseys. Americans are becoming more lazy and timid as the years go by. We need a new president and set of policys that will toughen up americca and install better diciplinary codes. For example every school should have a jrotc program and martial arts program. So people will learn diciplin and not be such wimps.

I am sure the "terrorists" are completely unimpressed either way. Jeez, we have been there for around 5 years and terrorism is increasing. Pulling out might actually show them we have some sense and know when to regroup and change strategy. How much more "vulnerable" can we be? Our troops are spread thin, we have a lame duck president, division among Americans and the rest of the world now hates us

The only thing to stop America looking weak would be if you actually caught Osama because he is the terrorist who did attack you.I know most people are hoping that we cant tell the difference between him and Saddam but we can ,one lives in a hole the other lived in a palace.

Who cares what terrorists think? Pulling out of Iraq will show the Muslim moderates that we aren't trying to control them. The terrorists don't care what we think, and will try to get us despite our troops.
