No! No! No! The FAFSA is free to fill out. You need to be on the correct website, which is:
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
The first F in Fafsa stands for "Free" by the way!

In a word, no! FAFSA stands for FREE Application for Federal Student Aid. You should check which site you're using to complete the FAFSA. There are lots of scam applications out there, so beware! The correct website is www.fafsa.ed.gov. Anything else is an imitation. The REAL FAFSA will ask you for tax information, household data, but NEVER asks for a credit card. Ditch your site and get with the one mentioned above!

You are applying on the WRONG site! When the internet first came out a very cunning guy snagged www.fafsa.com He files the FAFSA for you, but wants $ to do it.

You need to go to the correct site - www.fafsa.ed.gov and file without his help.

Remember FAFSA is an acronym for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. That first word is FREE.

Good luck!!! And great job catching this before you spent $ to file.

I've never heard of that. Filling out the FASFA application should be free.
