Were you raised by a single mom? Did she get pregnant all by herself? There are answers to your questions that you may never know, because she wants to protect you. She did everything she could and knew how to do.
Mary Blithe (or something like that) said of her abusive parents,
"I blame you for nothing (because they only did what thay had been taught), but I forgive you for everything".
You might have to ponder on that one for a while, I know I did.
I'm sorry you felt neglected. That's horrible. As you get older and have children you will begin to understand that life isn't perfect.
Not every woman/girl who gets pregnant had a choice in keeping her legs shut. Alot are raped and don't tell anyone about it.
Best wishes to you.

Cuz, like u said they can't leave their legs shut, and I guess they have that one problem called "I'm a sl*t". Some girls, more younger ones than any other, just don't realize how easy it is to get pregnant and to know how to respect their body. I mean they have pills out there for EVERYTHING, why don't they have a pill that makes ur legs stay shut! LOL! I don't know why those dumb girls do what they do and think what they think. They must not be too smart. I mean everybody knows sex causes babies and protection don't always work, so if the co*k goes in IT'S ALWAYS A POSSIBILITY and some girls just don't understand, until it's too late. AND---------those moms that let the TV raise their kids are those moms that are too lazy to care about their kids cuz they are probably too busy in the other bedroom "accidentally" making more baby's. Those are the moms that think of their kid as an inconvenience.

This is all to true in today's world, I was blessed with a good man who stuck by my side and made it possible for me to stay home with my children.
But on the other hand, this is rare now, to many people are having children when they are not ready for a life commitment which leaves the custodial parent often times completely on their own.
I am sure that when they got pregnant they did not for see raising their child on their own it just happens. They have to work to pay the bills and yes that means that children are pretty much raised by some one else.
It sucks but the only way that it is going to stop is if people start taking responsibility for what they do in life and realize that once your child is born you no longer have the right to think of your self what you want and need it is all about that child what is best for them.

You have to have balance in your life. When you decide to have children you are making at least a 21 or 22 year commitment when that child or children are the most important thing in your life. Parents need to work in order to provide and they need a social life too, but, besides the job requirements, their children should be the center of their life. In many cases, they aren't and these are the kids that never turn out like they should. The backbone of the american family is the parenting and today many of these families are not doing what is necessary to keep our nation and society at the top. I agree that without the commitment people should not become parents.

I think it's a serious question. I wonder that myself because I live in the area with highest teen pregnancy rate in the U.S. It's a little harsh to put it that way, and maybe you'll be able to develop more tolerance as you age. The fact is, it always has been this way and always will be. Many of us were conceived "unitentionally" and that really doesn't matter. If you're really concerned about kids growing up without good role models or enough attention, see what YOU can do to make things better. Why not volunteer as a big brother, boy scout leader, YMCA activities leader, mentor or school volunteer. You could work as a camp counselor or teacher, or in one of the many youth service agencies.

wow, my daughter won't be raised by the TV or Internet, the only time she would ever get on the computer is if she has to do school work, and she won't be looking it up on the Internet either, and TV is kept to 2 hours a day for all of us. Just cuz bad parents do these things, it does not mean all parents do, some of us care about our children.

Good question, I've asked myself this before.
Also - why take the kids shopping at nap time? Or when they are hungry?
I think they do this be able to say, "see my child" or "I'm a good parent" or to have something to complain about to others.
Here's another thought. Why do parents think that the schools should teach them "everything"? Not just the three R's.
Why are schools taking on the full day responsibility.
Breakfast
Naps
Snacks
Lunch
Bus to and from home
After school activities
After school homework help
After school daycare.
Why don't we just pick them up at the delivery room and then give them back when they are 18?
Thanks for letting me vent. :)

I agree with you 100%. So many parents nowadays treat their kids like pets, that are fun to be around when you're not doing anything else, but they are not a priority. I am so sick of parents working, leaving their kids in daycare, then getting a babysitter every weekend so they can go out, and the rest of the time have the TV turned on so the kids don't "bug" them!! Kids need parents!!! If you don't want to be one, don't have a baby!

Well.....sometimes the job has to be important because what if they gave it up...where is the money for food, rent, utilities and such? I had to work when my kids were little off and on to pay the bills. I also teach my kids the rights and wrongs of life. So unless you have kids and can afford to stay at home do not put people down.

Whether or not to have children is a fundamental human right. People have children for lots of reasons, some may not agree with your ideas about how much time they should spend with their kids. Very few parents truly hate their children, most are just bad at parenting and so it appears this way. Most parents have an enormous amount of love for their kids.
The bulk of the scientific evidence shows that how children are raised plays little part in how they turn out (intelligence, personality, success in life). The most important factors are genetic.
