Federal statutes long in force prohibit certain aspects of foreign military service originating within the United States. The current laws are set forth in Section 958-960 of Title 18 of the United States Code. In Wiborg v. U.S. , 163 U.S. 632 (1985), the Supreme Court endorsed a lower court ruling that it was not a crime under U.S. law for an individual to go abroad for the purpose of enlisting in a foreign army; however, when someone has been recruited or hired in he United States, a violation may have occurred. The prosecution of persons who have violated 18 U.S.C. 958-960 is the responsibility of the Department of Justice.

This is rarely enforced but the Federal Code does exist to make it punishable to enlist into a foreign army.

It has been done by Americans mostly those of Jewish descent. Although other Americans have also joined the Israeli military. I know of no law that says that a citizen of America cannot join another military as long as that military is not fighting against America. Many Americans joined the Canadian military during the 2nd WW & there were no repercussions to their haveing done so. You do not have to be a citizen of Israel to join the military.

Well, you probably need to become an Israeli citizen. From what I've heard, just about every adult there has served some time in the military. Being vigilant on defending their country comes natural for Israelis, because it's their lifeline.

Maybe the US would sell citizens to the Israeli military for a good price. Sort of like the way we sell weapons to them.

Max is actual. while you're goyem and don't study / communicate Hebrew you're in basic terms eligible for the Sar-El application. this would possibly not influence your US citizenship as long as Israel does not take in arms against the US. mutually as provider in a foreign places protection stress stress might reason the shortcoming people citizenship it is on condition which you concurrently intend to relinquish your US citizenship except you take in arms against the US as a member of that foreign places protection stress stress. The presumption in regulation is which you do no longer intend to offer up your US citizenship absent an specific announcement to the different.
