Well back in the day, if you didn't have money to get your hair dyed without going through all the processes and waiting, you could use peroxide to lighten it to a blondish/reddish color. The problem with this quick fix is that it dries and damages your hair. It is better to either just keep on dying it until you get that color you want or go to the shop and get it bleached so that your hair is ready to be dyed whatever color you want. But even bleaching it can be harsh, so whenever you dye your hair, you need a deep conditioner, because dyes dry it out, and also depending if you use relaxers or perms, it can affect the processing time as well... So to answer your question, peroxide is bad. Buy a hair coloring kit at home, or save your money to get it professionally done which is the best thing.

Peroxide is bad..if your dying your own hair and using it.it strips your haair of its natural pigment (colour) which is why it can break get split ends or worse fall out!

my advice to you is if you have brown in your hair look out as it can go orange i would go and get it done by a hairdrersser

but if you cant afford it and want to go blond do it slowly start with a treatment for your hair first so it wont get to damaged and dye your hair only a coulpe of shades lighter that what you are try and avoid the peroide and if you do do it use a toner(purple incolour it removes any yellow tone in the hair one it has been turned to blonde)
follow all instructions carefully please

Peroxide is the main ingredient in most professional hair bleaches. It removes colour to allow another hair colour to penetrate the hair shaft.
If not used correctly, it can seriously dry out your hair.

Peroxide really dries out your hair. That's why coloring it isn't good for it at all- much less bleaching it.

peroxide tends to change the color of one's hair and i guess it depends on the color it changes to rather or not it's a good thing or not.

Stay away from it. It will bleach your hair but it will cause breakage and split ends.
