Making breakfast for hubby and me this morning, I was pouring out the bacon grease and a dollop dropped on my hand!! OUCH!! Now I have a blister about 3/4 of an inch large and not sure what to do with it... The men say "POP IT" but I think that's wrong. I don't want to have a scar, plus it's my left hand and I'm getting married next month... HELP! The stupid blister is HUGE!!!!

Don't pop it! That will cause a scar to form. You can try neosporin or a similar product after the blister pops, the pharmacist can tell you what would be best. Keep it clean and let it pop on it's own, the blister is your natural band-aid.

BTW: Next time you get burnt the best way to get the ouch to go away is to put white vinegar on it...or even a dill pickle. I know it sounds crazy, but it will take the sting right out! It's a trick I learned while working at a restaurant.

And don't think your the only one to have ever burned themselves bad when cooking, two years ago I splashed boiling water on my breast and got a second degree....god that hurt!
Congrats on the wedding.

Don't pop it. Cover the burn with a sterile gauze bandage. Don't use fluffy cotton, which may irritate the skin. Wrap the gauze loosely to avoid putting pressure on burned skin. Bandaging keeps air off the burned skin, reduces pain and protects blistered skin.

Minor burns usually heal without further treatment.

Dont pop it! Allow the blister to remain as long as it can so the skin underneath has a chance to heal. When it does break keep the area very clean & use antibiotic ointment & watch for signs of infection.

If i was paying attension is health right you need to run it under cold but not too cold of water. Do that for about 10 mintues. Then you should either call the pedimetics or go to the docter. Oh yea after you put it under water. Wrap it in a bandage. But since it does have a blister YOU NEED MEDICAL ATTENSION

If it was third-degree, you would have skin/tissue loss and not a blister only. It would hurt so badly that you wouldn't be on here asking about it.
