hey, i just had a virus on my computer, so they had to go in and wipe out my entire system and replace it with a brand new one. as a result, i lost ALL of my programs.

i have a dvd r/rw drive on my computer, but when i insert dvds (not pirated), the only program that comes up is windows media player, and then it says it cant play my dvd.

i think i used to have something called windvd or something? i cant remember exactly. but is there some sort of program that i can get for free so that i can play dvds on my comp again???

thanks a lot everyone!

in case you do not have a dvd participant on your workstation as in a unmarried it extremely is is able to taking area in DVD's on your workstation then.. you need to be out of success. in case you at the instantaneous are not particular once you've a DVD participant then placed it into the position your workstation takes discs and see what it does.... if it performs the disc..... then... you do... if no longer.... then possibilities are extreme you've a CD rom participant and this gained't examine DVD's. As for if it comes along with your workstation it does come fairly time-honored with todays pcs, even if in case your workstation is older then it ought to no longer have got here with it.

There is an excellent player I use. I originally got it on download.com but I no longer see it there. It is the KMPlayer. It is excellent. I had a similar problem, that is, no codecs on a pc I had made for me. None of the other players will have codecs, but the interface in the KMPlayer is easy and excellent! I highly recommend it! You can get it (and it is still free!) at http://kmplayer.en.softonic.com/ie/47650

Hi

It is actually InterVideo WinDVD.
You can do one thing, go to download.com, download DIVx codec. or search in google DIVx Codex. Or you can visit divx.com. I have installed divx codec in laptop, i had the same problem earlier with DVD's not playing in windows media player. Now its playing very well.

Try and install Divx Codec files.
Its free.

Chris
