Pretty sure that Gray and Alexander can be either English, Scottish or Irish names, although I think they are more prevalent in England than the other places, Alexander is derived from Greek, so people from other european nations can have that name too. Gray is pretty much limited to the British places.

Hey Gloria,

Gray and Alexander will be best researched by working on the GENFORUM. What I did below is to put the GENFORUM for GRAY, and a search in it for the word Ireland. Lots of hits, should give you people to talk to.

The same set of sites for Alexander is below too. Note that there are 3 GENFORUMs for each name (Gray and Alexander). The 4 not shown are listed as specific to STATES in the United States - but could still produce results for you.

Here are some IRISH sites too.
